Intervals
- Domestic — annually.
- Guest houses, hotels and high-demand sites — every six months, because run hours are far higher.
- Hard-water areas — annual descaling inspection regardless of run hours.
The checks that matter
Coil cleaning, fan and airflow verification, refrigerant pressures, circulation pump operation, sensor accuracy, anode and cylinder condition, and pipe insulation integrity. Readings should be recorded each visit so falling performance is caught before failure.
Warning signs between services
Longer recovery times, unusual noise, ice on the evaporator in mild weather, or a noticeable rise in electricity use all justify a call before the next scheduled service.
